As an integral aspect of this cultural exchange, BMCT has organized yoga, folk and gypsy dance, massage and nutritious west Indian cuisine courses for the VC dance team.  Keenly interested in education, social justice and human rights they will also interact with Udaipur non-profits Shikshanter, Pahel, Jagran Jan Vikas Samiti, to name a few, who have made significant cultural contributions to Udaipur city and its neighboring districts.

BMCT & VC hope with this pilot project to catalyze a Beyond Borders Dance Festival in Udaipur for April 29, 2012, in celebration with the annual, global International Dance Day initiated by the UNESCO affiliated International Dance Council (CID) in 1974.  BMCT believes heritage city Udaipur with its exquisite culture of dance and performance arts holds a natural place in a global celebration of dance.  BMCT aims to catalyze the city's school district, cultural institutions, dance teachers and dance troupes, hoteliers, dance enthusiasts, international visitors and neighborhoods to make April 29, 2012 a landmark entry-point into International Dance Day.

On January 22, 2012 Hemant Reriwal owner of the Royal Retreat will host a gala celebration for the VC troupe at this  magnificent Udaipur hotel in the hills. BMCT and VC will present to the Mayor and officials of Udaipur the official Ulster County New York friendship plaque, at this gala event.

This pilot project has been made possible with the kind support of friends, family and the larger community. We request all those with outstanding pledges to kindly fufill their commitments now, to help see this project through to a resounding success.
